How to use this calculator
Enter Monthly rent ($), Days in month, Billable days. The result updates in your browser as you edit an input. The prefilled values are examples only.
How the estimate works
Divide monthly rent by days in the billing month and multiply by billable days; verify the lease method.
What can change the answer?
Some leases use calendar days; others use a 30-day convention or a different first-month arrangement. Check the written agreement before paying.
Before relying on the result
Check that the figures use the same units and period. Compare the result against a current label, quote, contract, employer policy, or official dataset when appropriate. This estimate does not include factors you have not entered.
Worked example with the default inputs
Monthly rent of $1,800 divided by 30 days gives $60 per day. Twelve billable days produce $720. A calendar-day agreement in a 31-day month produces a different result.
Interpret the result in a planning record
The prorated rent calculator divides monthly rent by the days in the chosen month and multiplies by billable days. That is one calculation method. Your lease may use a different convention, so use the written agreement as the source of truth. Count the dates carefully and confirm whether the move-in date is included.
Save the input values, units and result together. Change one uncertain input at a time so you can see which assumption moves the answer. A displayed decimal is arithmetic precision, rather than evidence that the measurements or rates are equally precise.
